Most people who know sea buckthorn know the berry. The leaf is the quieter half of the plant, and in the Himalayas it has been brewed for far longer than the fruit has been juiced.
These are hand-picked from wild sea buckthorn stands in the high Himalayas and dried slowly, out of direct sun, so the leaf keeps its colour and its compounds. No berries, no blending, no added flavour — just the leaf.
The cup is light and clean, faintly grassy, without the tartness of the berry. Naturally caffeine-free, so it works late in the evening.
How to brew
Boil 200ml of water. Add one teaspoon of leaves. Steep 3 to 5 minutes, then strain. Honey or a squeeze of lemon if you like — neither is necessary.
